THE SOUNDS OF
PREHISTORY
THE FIRST MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS: THE PALEOLITHIC
Naturalism, experimental archaeology, ethnomusicology
Some hundred sonorous objects, the first musical instruments;
stones, seeds, woods, shells, bones, horns, employed as percussions, whistles,
flutes (among which in eagle bone), trumpets, reeds, bows, flying rhombuses.
Prototypes, original finds, replicas of the prehistory and musical instruments
of the different primitive ethnic cultures.
- With written program
1 - the concert can be developed in natural and archaeological environments
and also
in insides, in museums, halls and theatres.
2 - the musical instruments are employed acoustic or amplified.
3 - with dances and prehistoric customs, or with neutral clothing.
4 - theme concerts according to periods, places and subjects.

They will be exposed and used more
than one hundred prototypes of musical instruments, original finds
and replicas.

The group Synaulia presents different repertoires according
to the events and the thematic.
The basic-group is a quintet.
Or in duo or trio, so in a "widened" group of 7/12 actually to 30 and
more elements for the great demonstrations. |

Prehistory and antiquity
The musical instrumentsof the mysteric
cults in the imperial Rome
The musical instruments of the
cults mysteric in the imperial Rome.
Archetypal sounds that sets in motion in whom listens the most secret
and fascinating internal vibrations. A meeting performance "theatre
of sounds", a journey of high suggestion, an psychoacoustic experience
in hearing the "magic" sacred sounds that the ancients listened
thousands of years ago.

ANCIENT ROME MULTIETHNIC
AT THE BORDERS OF THE EMPIRE
"In imperial epoch they flowed to Rome and
they circulated in the Empire a great number of singers, dancers
and instrumentalists coming besides from Greece, also from Egypt,
from Syria, from Spain, from Batavia, but also from black Africa
and from the distant Ceylon, on the way for the Indies and on the
silk’s route. |
Spectacle with the possibility to develop different thematics.
To the basic-group Synaulia they join musicians, dancers and actors coming from
different cultures, so
a "widened" group can be formed
of 12, actually to 30 and more elements for the great demonstrations. |

THE ANCIENT PRESENT
In the research of the musical instruments of
the antiquity, individualized through the archaeological finds, the
representations and the literary descriptions we can deduce that
many of these instruments are still in use in the popular, and classic
music of our epoch, as "an ancient present".
We find some instruments that were common since centuries among the ancient
Mediterranean and oriental folks.
A meeting comparison among cultures 2000 years later. |
Performance in two different versions with the possibility
to develop different thematics.
1 - to the basic-group they join musicians and dancers of the Italian popular
traditions.
2 - to the basic-group they join musicians and dancers of other cultures and
countries.

FORTUNA
“The Fortune Comes Sounding”
Fortune and her horn, have travelled with us from the prehistory
actually to our days through every epoch and country.

Spectacle entirely devoted to the goddess Fortune, with recitations of
passages from the Latin texts, theatrical pictures, dances and processions.
A popular show of high suggestion realized in preview to the Festival
"Women in music" developed to Fiuggi in 1997. |
Spectacle in two different versions:
1 - for theatres, or indoors, with a group composed of 10 artists at least. With
the different correlated characters: the Venus of the horn, Iside, the Witch.
2 - outdoors, with procession true the city streets. Group composed by 30 artists
at least, with 9 dancers, fighters, sedan. |

BACCO
DIONISIAN TIASO
Baccus, Dioniso and his tiaso, with Sileno, Menadi
and Baccanti, Nymphs and Satyrs, to give life to the sacred festivity
of the wine, with recitations of passages from the Latin texts, theatrical
pictures, dances and processions. |
Spectacle in two different versions:
1 - for theatres, or indoors, with a group composed of 10 artists at least.
2 - outdoors, with procession true the city streets, group widened with 10 and
more elements. |

Poetry in Music
NATURA ARTIS MAGISTRI
Recitations, readings and declamations of ancient
texts in Latin, Greek and etruscan or inspired to the antiquity with
the accompaniment and in interrelation with the musical instruments
reconstructed of the epoch: the lyre and the citra.

NYMPHS, MUSES & SIRENS
Dances, music and theatre of
the antiquity
A performance all to the feminine.
With theatrical scenes devoted to the dances with the musical instruments
that accompany the Goddess since the prehistory. Instruments such
as the Horn of Fortune and the love calls of Venus, the sistrums
of Iside and the drums and cymbals of Cybele, actually to the etruscan,
Latin and Greek language, that woven with the sounds of the citra,
they speak of love. |
The basic-group is composed by 7 artists, dancers plurinstrumentists.
A widened group can be formed of 16 components.
